The Arts & Cultural Excellence Award recognises a MOBA member who has significantly advanced and impacted the arts, culture, or creative industries locally or internationally. Their work should embody creativity, innovation, and cultural preservation


Proposer

A nominee must be proposed by someone familiar with their artistic/cultural contributions and character. The proposer must provide a profile or CV, including reasons for the nomination and a portfolio of works where applicable.

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion
The nominee
1. Must have made a distinguished impact in arts and culture (Visual Arts & Cultural Artefacts,
Performing Arts & Cultural Expressions, or Literacy & Narrative Arts).
2. Must have received recognition from peers or institutions.
3. Must have advanced modern and cultural appreciation, preservation, or innovation nationally or
internationally.
4. Sustained record of artistic or cultural excellence.

Exclusion
1. No MOBA member may be excluded from this award by virtue of any official position held in the
Association.
2. No nominee for this award may be a member of the selection committee for this award.


Achievement Criteria

Areas of assessment may include:
1. Creative accomplishments and originality.
2. Recognition, awards, or exhibitions/performances.
3. Cultural impact and preservation.

● Aesthetic and Expressive
● Communal and Popular
4. Service to Mfantsipim and mentorship of young talents.
5. Character and integrity.


Number of Awards

This Award may be given to more than one individual. Based on sub-categories such as;
1. Visual Arts & Cultural Artefacts: Paintings, Sculptures, Craft & Decorative arts (textiles, pottery, jewelry, etc), and architecture.
2. Performing Arts & Cultural Expressions: Music & Sound, Dance, and Theatre & Films
3. Literacy & Narrative Arts: Written Literature, Oral storytelling, and Digital & New Media
