Science, Technology and Innovation Award

The recipient of the Science, Technology and Innovation Award must either be an alumnus of Mfantsipim, or someone closely connected with the School such as a former teacher and must have made significant contribution to society in Science Technology and Innovation, both nationally and internationally. Award may be given posthumously

Proposer

A nominee must be proposed by someone who is familiar with the nominee's character and achievements in science, technology, and innovation and is able to facilitate the provision of the required verifiable supporting material.

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion

The nominee:
1. Must be a scientist or technologist of national or international reputation

2. May either be in active work or retired

3. Made significant contributions to knowledge in their field of expertise

Exclusion

No nominee for an award may be a member of the selection committee for that award.

Achievement Criteria

The nominee must satisfy one or more of the following:

1. Verifiable [patent or publication] Scientific and Technological discovery

2. Fostering and advancing innovation in (groundbreaking) research

3. Contribution to current thinking in his/her field of specialization

4. Social, economic, or technical impact of the contributions

5. Recognised and cited by his/her peers in his field of specialization
